Management Team

Lawrence S. Dolin
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer

Larry Dolin is a founder of Noteworthy.  He has been active in healthcare for many years, having served on the board of trustees of MetroGeneral Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio; as Chairman and CEO of Helian Health Group, Inc., a public company engaged in ambulatory surgery centers and outpatient clinics; and in IMREG, a biotechnology company engaged in immune research.  He ran and had been the majority owner of a large entertainment facility that presented top entertainers and speakers, and has been involved in founding, investing in, or serving on the boards of other public companies, including VeloBind, Inc., and several privately held companies in various industries.  He currently serves on the public boards of Morgan's Food, Inc. and FalconStor, Inc., a technology company specializing in IP storage.  Mr. Dolin lectures on entrepreneurship at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.  He has a juris doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University where he participated on its Law Review and practiced for five years after graduation.  Currently he serves on the law school's visiting committee.


Paul L. Ruflin
President and Chief Operating Officer

Paul Ruflin's 25-plus years of healthcare experience in both the healthcare software and services business make him an ideal candidate to lead Noteworthy during its next phase of development and growth. He was recently added to Noteworthy's Board of Directors. Paul joined Noteworthy from Deloitte Consulting LLP in New York, where he served as a senior partner in the Healthcare Practice. Paul was the CEO of Eclipsys Corp, a publicly traded major healthcare software company, during the time it brought its next generation healthcare software solutions to market. Just prior, Paul was COO of the North American operations for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Prior to his role as COO, Paul was the national director of the health managed care practice for Cap Gemini and Ernst & Young. He held a variety of leadership positions at Ernst & Young in the healthcare practice prior to leading the practice. In addition to taking part in the Executive Program of Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Paul received his MBA from Bowling Green State University. Paul is a veteran healthcare executive whose experience with healthcare technology and operations will be of great benefit to Noteworthy customers.


John F. Rice
Vice President of Development

Before joining Noteworthy, Mr. Rice was director of software development for NetGenics where he was instrumental in early product architecture and building development teams.  Prior to NetGenics, he spent 10 years in various development and management capacities for Chemical Abstracts Service.  Mr. Rice graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in computer science from Bowling Green State University, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.  He also received his M.S. in computer science and taught for two years at BGSU.


Christopher Flasco
Vice President of Professional Services

Starting with Noteworthy Medical Systems in 2000 as a project manager, Mr. Flasco spent two years as client services manager before moving into his current role as vice president of professional services in January, 2003.  Prior to joining Noteworthy, Mr. Flasco was employed as a project manager by JBA International, which is the sixth largest enterprise resource planning (ERP) software firm in the world.  At JBA Mr. Flasco installed software applications, trained end users and coordinated all aspects of numerous implementations.  His responsibilities included determining a budget and verifying costs, deploying the appropriate resources for each job, and managing project teams for global implementations.  Mr. Flasco worked closely with the client's upper-level management teams to determine a customized setup for each client's system, and was responsible for ensuring effective communication between the company and the customer.  His efforts also included coordination of internal processes between project management and other departments including development, support, and IT.
Mr. Flasco graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Toledo.


Martin Frygier
Vice President of Sales

Mr. Frygier began his Noteworthy career in January, 2000.  With 10 years prior experience in various healthcare roles at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Mr. Frygier is personally aware of the issues facing healthcare organizations.  Growing through a number of positions at Noteworthy, including clinical consultant, director of clinical resources, and sales consultant, he now leads the physician sales and marketing divisions.  With a background in healthcare and implementation and a detailed understanding of the company's technology, he is personal involved with every NoteworthyEHR sale.  Mr. Frygier is uniquely positioned to communicate and manage the Noteworthy sales process.


William Patrick
Controller

Mr. Patrick's career combines 20 years of extensive business management and financial experience in technology services and manufacturing.  Prior to joining Noteworthy, he was the controller of the radiology information services business unit of Marconi Medical Systems, Inc. (presently Philips Medical Systems, Inc.), where he was responsible for worldwide financial operations of the newly created business unit focused on the radiology information services market.  At Marconi, Mr. Patrick established financial policies and procedures for the new business unit and worked closely with management on strategic initiatives and acquisition opportunities.  Mr. Patrick received his bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Toledo.  He is a certified CPA.


Vincenzo Scivittaro, M.D., Ph.D., MS-MIS
Director of Medical Informatics

Dr. Vincenzo Scivittaro brings 15 years of multi-disciplinary medical and informatics experience to Noteworthy.  Dr. Scivittaro holds a Ph.D. in Nephrology and a masters in management of information systems.  He is the primary author of several research studies published in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented his results at national and international meetings.  At Noteworthy he is responsible for the construction and implementation of guidelines-based medical content using agile development methodologies for knowledge-based systems.  Dr. Scivittaro's team identifies, develops and maintains a comprehensive medical content knowledge base supporting compliance and documented clinical guidelines.  As part of the product management team, Dr. Scivittaro is also responsible to research, define and prioritize the next generation Noteworthy product.
